Head of Knowledge Exchange for NFP 81 elected
The Research Council of the SNSF has appointed Caspar Schärer as Head of Knowledge Exchange for NRP 81 «Baukultur».
Caspar Schärer is an architect, journalist and spatial planner. He communicates on architecture at various levels, and is regarded as an important voice for Baukultur in Switzerland. He is currently General Secretary of the Federation of Swiss Architects (FSA) and Vice-President of the Architekturforum Zürich. He has published articles on Baukultur as an independent author in daily newspapers and specialist journals since 2004. From 2008 to 2017, he was editor of the renowned magazine werk, bauen + wohnen. As part of NRP 81, Caspar Schärer will promote exchanges between research, society and politics and will ensure that the scientific results produced by the programme are communicated to the numerous stakeholders involved in Baukultur and to the general public.
Research in NRP 81 will begin in early 2025 and aims to link Baukultur to social and ecological transitions and to reestablish the link between Baukultur and society. In particular, the understanding of processes in the built environment is to be improved and interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary cooperation intensified.
